This week's ray of hope ...

On Friday, June 21, Illinois Governor Pritzker signed a law that requires sterilization facilities including Medline Industries in Waukegan to prevent leaks of ethylene oxide (EtO) into the communities surrounding their plants. This was due in large part to the pressure applied by Stop EtO in Lake County, a group of concerned residents who have been raising awareness and demanding action from all involved parties (and similar activist groups in Willowbrook). Good government is responsive to the needs of the people, and this is a great example! Thanks to Tea Tanaka and all the folks behind Stop EtO.
